This regulation provides rules relating to the quality standards and environmental management systems and standards. These standards should be based on relevant European standards and certified by accredited bodies.

Quality assurance standards and environmental management standards

Where the contracting authority requires certification of certain quality assurance systems and environmental management standards, it should ensure that these are based on relevant European standards and certified by accredited bodies.
Key considerations at this commercial stage
Contracting authorities should:
- ensure that if certificates relating to quality assurance and environmental management systems or standards are required, they do not exceed the requirements as set out in this regulation (i.e. regulation 62)
- ensure that the procurement documents enable suppliers to submit other evidence of equivalent quality assurance measures where the supplier has no possibility of obtaining specified certificates within the relevant time limits
- ensure that the procurement documents enable suppliers to demonstrate other evidence of environmental management measures where the supplier has no access to specified certificates within the relevant time limits.
